The Office is a Beneteau Oceanis 390 in 'owners configuration' as opposed to a charter layout. She has two private cabins, two heads a large galley and seating for 6 people at the saloon table. The second aft cabin is deleted to provide a larger single cabin, and a huge external sail locker that houses the generator and air conditioning system. She was built in Marion in South Carolina in 1989 and was launched originally as C'est Si Bon ( Its So Good). She was then sold to a Canadian with the same surname as me and renamed Radical Sabbatical. She returned to the US and spent the last 10 years in the Florida Keys. There's no surprise I changed the name when registering her as an Australian ship. I did think about changing the name to the original name, but its a weak name with punctuation in it - try saying that in the phonetic alphabet in a distress call "Charlie - um, apostrophe - Echo - Sierra....." So she became 'The Office'. The Office is in great shape. The hull and rig are good, the ancillary systems are fairly simple and mostly work. She has a ton of storage space and sails like a dinghy. The generator and aircon are great and a real winner with the family. |
